Valued Partnerships Allow Family Hope Foundation to Expand its Reach

by Katelyn Bush, Vice President Secretary for the West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization

“The West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization is so proud to be able to be a piece of the puzzle in the game of giving hope.”

Working together is important. And we don’t take that lightly here at the West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization. We work closely with our community partner, Family Hope Foundation, each year to ensure that families in need are supported in every way possible. The West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization raises money to empower individuals living with spina bifida in the West Michigan area. We do this by offering scholarship money for adaptive equipment, home renovations, and recreational equipment. We also organize socials throughout the year for families to get together and create a community of support. Newly diagnosed pregnant women, children, teens, and adults can find a place at our organization to feel supported and encouraged in every stage of life.

The West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization invests funds in Family Hope Foundation’s Designated Scholarship Program so individuals with spina bifida can receive essential therapies.  These costs add up extremely quickly and put a tremendous financial strain on a family. The gift of therapy can relieve financial pressure and allow a child to reach their goals, improve their quality of life, attain more independence. The West Michigan Spina Bifida Organization is so proud to be able to be a piece of the puzzle in the game of giving hope. We hope to continue this partnership for years to come to better serve families living with and thriving with spina bifida.
